This is a new section about career development. Check back as new pages are added. As the real estate industry changes, many new work opportuinties open up. There are now jobs for real estate assistants who want to work part time, and sometimes fulltime, for successful agents who generate so much business they need help. This is a wonderful way to lean the business.
There is also a new world of buyer representation. Buyer brokers or buyer representations, as they are also called, are really more like purchasing agents than salespeople. They help buyers shop for the best property to meet their needs and then help secure it on the best terms.
If you can "shop to you drop", you might be a big star as a buyer representative...without ever having to sell a property!
I plan in the future to post a job bank with the names of agents needing assistants and companies needing buyer representatives. As for now, check the article contributed by Sherry Lewis, the principal broker at Keller Williams: Is Real Estate For You?. It covers the topic of real estate as a career. Look for more information to appear as well.
