The New 90-Hour Basic License Course
Cost: $425 …this price includes course materials. Course can be done offline but many resources will be available online. (Some work assignments must be mailed to school for grading.) Some Internet access is highly recommended. Visa and MasterCard are the only credit card we can accept.
Study Materials Included:
ü “Oklahoma-specific”, locally written and published, 450+ page manual. (Large spiral-bound format lies flat -- easy to read and work with. Covers only Oklahoma law so you will not have to bother with material written for other states.)
ü “Oklahoma-specific”, locally written and published, 250+ page workbook. (Large spiral-bound format lies flat -- easy to read and work with. Covers only Oklahoma law so you will not have to worry about material written for other states.) Please note: workbooks are essential when taking a course by mail or online!
ü Work assignment and testing package with chapter tests and assignment worksheets. This package will also be available online. Please note: work assignment are essential when taking a course by mail or online! This is also a lot of material.
ü Many hours of MP3 lecture subjects will be available online. Dozens of topics will be available so you can get detailed explanations of concepts that might not be clear from your reading. These audio clips will be posted as created and needed as the course continues. (With dozens of short MP3 lectures, you will not have to listen through material you already understand. This is like having lectures on only the material you want covered. You do not have this luxury in a classroom lecture. This course is designed to make the best of both worlds: the convenience of learning at home plus the benefit of hours of lectures to explain the material.)
ü Dozens of online practice tests and drills will be constantly posted for those with Internet Access. Tests will often be on one concept like "Escheat". The idea will be to ask all the questions you are likely to see on the exam concerning that one topic. This worked very well with my online 45-hour course. All the best material from that course plus much, much more will be available with the new 90-hour course.
How the course works.
First enroll in the course then:
Ø Receive your textbooks and materials.
Ø Read chapter one in the textbook.
Ø Take the tests for chapter one in the workbook.
Ø Take the online quizzes for chapter one.
Ø Do the work assignments for chapter one.
Ø Listen to the MP3 lectures on chapter one topics. (The ones you want to listen to, that is.)
Ø Take the final exam for chapter one and mail answer sheets and work assignments back to the school. You must mail these in your own hand writing for my records. You cannot fax or email the tests in.
Ø You will need to get at least 75% on the chapter test to pass. If you get less than 75%, you will have to take a re-test. If you do not send in your work assignments, you will not pass the chapter until they are completed and submitted.
Ø Your results will be mailed back to you usually in a few days.
Ø Repeat the steps you just did for chapter one with the next chapter and so on until all chapters have been passed.
Ø You do not have to wait until you get results from one chapter to take the next chapter. You can send in as many chapters at one time as you like.
Ø When you have passed all the chapters, take a practice final online and the practice final included with your testing package. When you think you are ready, take the final exam and mail it to the school. You will need 75% to pass the final exam.
Ø Your results will be sent back in a few days. If you pass, you will be sent your diploma and a certificate allowing you to take the license exam in Oklahoma City -- provided you otherwise qualify to sit for the exam.
Ø State law only allows a student six months to complete a distant learning course so do not start the course until you are sure you have the time to complete the work.
Look for more information about the course as it is posted online.
